I still prefer the designs Mary Wilshire came up with for her. Unpopular with the "right" people as those were, they worked for me.

Latter half of the 1980's, just after I moved to Ottawa.

Can't say as I blame you much if at all for your thinking here. You can understand the chainmail up to a point when it's drawn by a Perez or a Hughes, but not everyone's up to that level(although many continue to strive to better their skills with varying degrees of success).
